Ministries

 

FBC has a top quality child care and pre-kindergarten program.  This program is staffed with teachers who provide a loving and nurturing environment.  The CMC seeks to guide children in developing spiritually, socially, physically, and educationally.  Child care for babies through five years old, a three and four year old pre-kindergarten, and after-school child care are provided.

 

 

 

Our Student Ministry encompasses CHILDREN'S, YOUTH, and COLLEGE Ministry.  The vision of our student ministry department at First Baptist Church of Philadelphia is simply to "GROW DISCIPLES." This vision statement is developed directly from Christ’s Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. Our goal is to use Bible study, directed teaching and discussion concerning discipleship and spiritual disciplines, and opportunities for service within our community, across our country, and around our world to promote this ultimate goal which Christ has set before us.

 

  

 

FBC provides Bible study for all ages.  From dedicated nursery and children workers, to knowledgeable adult workers who seek to help each one better understand God's Holy Word, there is a place for everyone in your family in Sunday School and Discipleship Training.  The special events of the Family Enrichment Ministry can also benefit your family as a part of the FBC Educational Ministry.

 

  

 

The Men's Ministry of FBC serves our Lord through two organizations, the Brotherhood and the Royal Ambassadors.  These groups are involved in the work and support of missions at home and abroad.  The Brotherhood meets the first Sunday morning of each month for fellowship and ministry.  The RA program is for boys in grades 1-6 and meets every Wednesday at 6:00pm.

 

 

 

The Music Ministry of FBC is an exciting and vital part of worship and ministry of our church family.  Everyone is encouraged to worship our Lord Jesus Christ with all God has created and equipped them to be.  There are many opportunities in the Music Ministry to develop and share talents to meet the needs of church and community: adult, youth, and children's choirs, vocal ensembles, adult and youth handbells, and an instrumental praise band.  The Music Ministry of FBC also presents many seasonal and special music programs throughout the year involving all ages.  All those involved in the Music Ministry are committed to sharing the message of Jesus Christ with Philadelphia and the world.

 

 

FBC's BE ACTIVE LIVE LONGER (BALL) group provides a sweet fellowship and ministry for senior adults.  BALL members believe in being active.  They enjoy trips, fellowships, and music together throughout the year.  On the third Tuesday of each month, the BALL group meets at the church at noon for a covered dish lunch and an interesting program. 

 

 

FBC has a thriving group of singles.  They gather for social activities as well as Bible study.  The ministry is designed to meet special fellowship and devotional needs of singles.  Specialized seminars for singles are also offered.

 

 

The foundation of our Women's Ministry at FBC is the Women's Missionary Union.  Their desire is to lead us as a church to respond to needs around us as we follow Christ's example of ministry and witness.  Our WMU involves women and girls in studying and participating in missions.  Mission Friends is for boys and girls ages 2-5.  Girls in Action (GA's) is for girls in grades 1-6.  Also, many opportunities for study and ministry are provided for women through our WMU and Women's Enrichment Ministry.
